Estelle: BREAKFAST!  usually some egg/bacon breakfast combo....2+2+2 at jinky's being my favorite! :)  if i go home instead of out, i'll usually make a breakfast burrito with eggs, bacon and cheese.  if i dont' have time to eat within an hour, i'll drink Heed's Recoverite.  I generally eat protein the whole day after a long run...burger for dinner...i'll make miso soup with tofu...stuff with a lot of protein.

Linda: Afterwards I eat a hummus sandwich... Bread with turkey, lettuce, avocado, cucumber and tomato... With hummus spread on both sides instead of mayo and mustard... And if I have it I put a little tzaziki on right before I eat it.

Sharon: I've been drinking a glass of ovaltine for the protein/carbs, and a glass of fruit juice for the antioxidants.

 Oscar: food. anything.

Bill: I will eat all the carbohydrate goodies at the finish line as soon as I can get to them, which is great for rebuilding carbohydrate stores, but at my next meal, I gravitate toward protein. No one does as much damage to their muscle tissue as endurance runners, and we need the protein for our muscles to repair. Sometimes I don't feel like solid food. Chocolate milk covers all the bases (liquid, protein, carbohydrates, and that chocolaty goodness)!

Maria: Lots of protein and carbs mixed with a higher ratio of fat than I usually eat.

Kim: Meat and pasta...I also ICE any body parts which are affected.

Glenn: After a long run, I like to have a medium pizza and a tall cold orange drink.

John: A  banana when I stop...always!  And then I try to eat what my body wants, which usually starts with an ice cold Diet Coke. I  believe the perfect long run recovery food is FRENCH  FRIES...either that or hash browns. That is what I'm craving, and I'll do some lean protein as well.

Charles:   Immediately at the finish line bagels, bananas, if lucky they will be serving pizza and/or cookies.   After cleaning and showering, a steak dinner.

Catherine: Whatever is available within the hour!  Normally it's breakfast, so eggs, hash browns etc.  If its a long run that runs after lunch - then a beer with lunch is always good!

Naz: Last time, I had Pedialyte, and then beer!
